PHILOSOPHY

Saint Ambrose Catholic School’s philosophy challenges students to improve the world by sharing gospel values and living Christ’s message of salvation through love and forgiveness. This philosophy helps form the minds, body, and spirit of our students and help them fulfill a life of service to others.

Our Catholic faith is an essential part of life at Saint Ambrose Catholic School. The call to worship, witness, and serve is manifested throughout the school day. The school community gathers for prayer and liturgical celebrations. The many service projects, including food and clothing drives, and fundraisers to aid the victims of natural disasters, instill in the students a sense of mission and concern for others. The staff, parents, and students work together to promote an atmosphere of respect and responsibility.

The faculty really took an interest in getting to know their students on an individual basis, and made efforts to form relationships with them that lasted even after the students left their classrooms. I still maintain relationships with several teachers even now as a graduate student, which I believe testifies to the dedication of the faculty at Saint Ambrose.

The core belief of ‘doing unto others as you would have them do unto you,’ is one specific example that I remember being modeled both at home and at Saint Ambrose. As a result, the importance of this principle became applicable in our everyday lives, and continues to be relevant in my life today.”
