A Day at St. Ambrose School

Morning arrival

boy_praying-185x300Our safety patrols greet students each morning as they arrive for school. Students proceed to their classrooms to organize their materials for the day. After morning announcements, students read a selection from the children’s lectionary and join in traditional Catholic prayers. After all students recite the Pledge of Allegiance, each class individually continues with its own personal intentions within their classroom. This combination of school-wide and classroom prayer builds a classroom community within the overall school community.

Students follow a daily schedule that meets or exceeds Diocesan requirements for each curriculum area. Specialists in the areas of computer, library, music, art, physical education, and Spanish provide instruction in these subjects

The Friday morning Mass is a special part of each week. Students act as ushers, lectors, and altar servers, and the school choir leads the congregation in song.  St. Ambrose students attend Mass on all holy days and attend Stations of the Cross weekly during Lent.  In additon, we celebrate the Feast of St. Ambrose (December 7) with a special school Mass and festivities.
