Parents

PTO

St. Ambrose School is blessed with an active, committed parent-teacher organization. The PTO supports the school by helping to raise funds, coordinate volunteers, and sponsor school and family oriented activities.

The PTO’s mission is to support the school’s philosophy and teachings by fostering academic excellence, healthy physical development, and Catholic morals and values for our students.  Fundraising activities provide funds for many “extras” for our students.

Additionally, the PTO coordinates a number of programs enhancing the quality of the community. These informative and enjoyable programs provide useful information for our families, and also give us the chance to interact with other Saint Ambrose families and just have fun!

Volunteers

The enthusiasm and dedication of parent volunteers contributes to the school’s warm atmosphere and is an important part of its success. Parents help the school in many ways: on the playground at recess, in the lunchroom, in the art and music programs, in the library, the office, assisting classroom teachers, serving on the PTO or helping with fund raising projects, maintaining the building and grounds, coaching sports teams, leading clubs, scouts and other activities.

While volunteer/service is required of all families, we find that most parents enthusiastically participate, often volunteering far more than any requirement. A list of volunteer positions is sent to each family at the beginning of the school year, and parents return a  sign-up form indicating how they would like to donate their time and talents.
