Ms. Ellen Koner

Ms. Koner

I am thrilled to begin my first year of teaching here at St. Ambrose School. I graduated from St. Ambrose Schoo in 2003, and since then, I have remained an active parishioner in the St. Ambrose community as well as doing substitute teaching beginning in 2010. This past May, I graduated from James Madison University with  a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies with a concentration in math and science as well as a minor in early childhood education. This degree helped me obtain a Virginia State Teaching License in prekindergarten through third grade instruction, as well as an endorsement to teach beginning math and algebra courses. In addition to my educational background, I have also become certified in MAT, CPR, and first aid.

Even though it is my first year teaching, I have spent the past four summers working with students ages 4-12 at Pinecrest Summer Pavilion. Outside of my teaching, I enjoy reading, movies, traveling, and spending time with my family. I am looking forward to the challenges and experiences that await me during this first year in my new role at St. Ambrose.
