Update from Mrs. Dalmut – Good Manners, Open House, Catholic Schools Week
Posted on January 20, 2015
Dear Parents,
Today begins our new program, Raise the Banner for Good Manners! Each day we will introduce a new manner that we will practice. The first is Speak to Adults with Respect. Here are the instructions that will be given to the students:
When responding to any adult, you have three choices:
- Ma’am, sir: Yes, sir. No, sir. Yes, ma’am. No, ma’am.
- By name: Yes, Fr. Fisher, No Fr. Fisher
- By title: Yes, Father. No, Father. Yes, Doctor. No, Doctor.
Each day we will add another manner — about 17 in all. We hope that you will encourage your children at home, and expect them to practice their manners there as well. Manners should be “natural,” but that only comes with practice! I will send you an email each day letting you know the Manner of the Day.
OPEN HOUSE: Thank you for spreading the word about our school! Our Open House is this Sunday from 11:00am – 1:30pm. All the faculty will be here to meet prospective families. It really warms my heart when visitors tell me that they have been referred by someone in the school — many thanks!
CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK: We are finalizing plans for Catholic Schools Week. After the PTO meets tomorrow night, we will send out an official schedule of events. In addition, please be sure to check out The Buzz!
God bless,
Barbara Dalmut
