Update from Mrs. Dalmut – January 13, 2015

Dear Parents,

It was nice to have a full day of school today. What a crazy month!

Mrs. Stalnaker has asked me to let you know that if your child ordered Chick-fil-A last week, you will receive a credit slip for $5.25 to use next month. For those who ordered Smoothies, the missed smoothies will be added on to the end of Phase 1, so your child will receive a smoothie on Thursday, Feb. 5.

I have to tell you how impressed I am with the SeaPerch project! There are 40 students who are working together in teams of 4. I popped in to their first meeting, and was amazed to see how well they were brainstorming together in teams! Our STEM Club has discovered quite a few scientists (both in our parent and student populations!) Thank you for all your hard work.

Please note on the school calendar that Friday is a Professional Development Day for the teachers. We will have meetings and training, so the school offices will be closed. Monday is the Martin Luther King Holiday, so you will have a four-day weekend. Enjoy!

Catholic Schools Week begins Sunday, Jan. 25. We will have an Open House from 11:00am-1:30pm. I will be available to “Meet the Principal” in the school lobby from 8:45-9:45am, during Religious Education classes. Please invite your friends and spread the word about our school. Our Open House in November was our most successful one yet — and almost all of the people came because someone invited them! Don’t keep our school a secret — share your good experiences and invite people to come to the Open House. In February, we will be hosting a Middle School Information Night. I know many of you with younger children have no idea what makes our middle school so successful. We will dedicate an evening to telling you what is different about how and why we do things for our older students.

Stay warm! Another storm is coming up from the south overnight. Be sure to check on school delays before you leave in the morning!

God bless,
