Update from Mrs. Dalmut – Jan. 27

Dear Parents,

I hope your children are enjoying their Student Appreciation Day! Please give them a hug for me and tell them that they are loved! Please tell them they may enjoy their Spirit-wear Dress-Down Day this Friday, January 30. They may wear anything St. Ambrose — or wear our school colors: blue & white. I will consult the teachers about rescheduling their Homework Pass Day — they won’t lose it forever! We will postpone their movie to the spring, and celebrate then when we need a break — I assume that they are enjoying a video sometime today at home!

Tomorrow is tricky. We have an early dismissal at 11:30 so teachers can finalize report cards. Knowing Fairfax County, they may have a late opening because of ice. If they do, then we will start 2 hours late (Extended Day opens at 9am; carpool will begin at 9:50) but we will dismiss at 3:10, in accordance with the Parent-Student Handbook.

My hope is that Fairfax County will open on-time, so we can have our early dismissal and get report cards done! Stay tuned. We will follow Fairfax County for our start time.

CAFETERIA UPDATE: The lunches that you ordered for today will be delivered tomorrow. If we dismiss at 11:30, you will be given a “to-go” lunch, which your child may eat at home or at Extended Day. If we open 2 hours late, everyone else will have to bring their lunches!

If your child is scheduled to have PE on Wednesdays, he/she should wear the PE uniform tomorrow.

Tomorrow is Teacher Appreciation Day. Please remember to send in a note or remembrance to your children’s teachers. They are greatly appreciated. Thank you to our 8th grade parents who are providing a luncheon for our faculty and staff! We are looking forward to it!

Report cards will go home on Friday — or at least that is the plan!

Stay safe and warm! Watch out for ice!

God bless,

Barbara Dalmut
