Update from Mrs. Dalmut – May 21: Tomorrow is Field Day!

Dear Parents,
Tomorrow is Field Day! Students should wear their PE uniform. They may also wear any St. Ambrose t-shirt (5K, Fun Run, Band, Choir, Track team, etc.) Students may bring a water bottle. If they want to wear sun screen or bug repellent, they must put it on before they enter school. Please — students may not bring cellphones or cameras! Students will not be returning to their classrooms, or going into the building after Field Day. They will dismiss directly from the Tug-of-War. So please do not send them with backpacks. Students should not expect to change their clothes here. There is no Extended Day, so everyone will be going directly to carpool. Teachers will be on duty so that safety patrols can leave with their families. Enjoy this fun day!
If your child isn’t feeling well, or will not be able to participate in the field day games, please keep them home. Field Day is very tiring, and they are outside all morning. Please use your judgment, and let us know if your child will be absent. We’d love for everyone to participate, but if they are sick, please let them rest at home.
I have another announcement about our faculty. Mrs. Serafin is expecting her first child, and has decided to take a hiatus from teaching to stay home with her baby. She will not be returning in the fall. We wish her well, and hope that she returns one day soon to St. Ambrose! Mrs. Bridget McCormack has been substitute teaching for us this year. She has experience teaching 5th grade, and English as a Second Language. She is a parishioner, and a teacher in the Religious Education program. Mrs. McCormack speaks Spanish, and loves our school! I am very pleased to say that she has accepted the position of 5th grade teacher for next year.
I ask your prayers for safe travel for my family this weekend. We are looking forward to a joyful celebration!
God bless,
Barbara Dalmut
