Update from Mrs. Dalmut Nov. 14 – Open House, Book Fair, High School Honor Rolls

Dear Parents,

As announced in The Buzz, there is no Lego Club today — the Book Fair is in the Library!

Speaking of the Book Fair, your children came home with a wish list. Here is how the Book Fair works. First, you should go over your list with your child. Help them to select their favorites (life is about choices.) They can bring in their money/check, or you can join them. The Book Fair will be open all day Monday and Friday until 4pm, and Sunday from 8:45-1:30 during our Open House. Please feel free to bring your children. They need to be accompanied by a parent after school hours. The proceeds from the Book Fair are used to purchase more books for our outstanding library! Mrs. Healy constantly updates our collection, as you can see!

OPEN HOUSE: Please tell/bring your friends to our Open House. If you feel that your children have benefited from our warm and nurturing environment, and you have confidence in our school, do your friends a favor and tell them to consider the investment in their children. It truly is an investment that will pay off for a lifetime. Our children deserve a good solid foundation in their education and their faith, and I truly believe they receive it at St. Ambrose. If you do not agree with me, we should be talking! Come see me.

PLEASE NOTE: The Open House is not a Coffee & Donut Sunday — it is only meant for meeting families interested in registering for our school. While we love social events, this is not intended as a social for all our families. We welcome all of our parents who are coming to give tours, and to meet and greet our guests. Parents and our middle school Lego Club members will be giving tours of the school. If you  would like to help, please contact Krista Gauthier. We will be focusing on our guests, and we hope to have lots of them!

Speaking of academic success, we have received long lists of our graduates who are on the Honor Rolls at Paul VI High School and Bishop Ireton High School.

Congratulations! We are proud of our graduates! They come back to tell us that our program and teachers prepared them for high school with excellent study skills and knowledge. In order to succeed in an ever-changing world, we have to teach children how to “learn to learn.” All those moments of frustration at having to return Notices or Demerits, turning in homework, working in small groups, presenting book reports, and planning long-term projects build character and confidence that make them successful as life-long learners.

God bless,

Barbara Dalmut
