Diocese of Arlington Band Festival

Dear Band Parents,

This year our annual Diocese of Arlington Band Festival will be held on Saturday, March 24 at Bishop Ireton High School, 201 Cambridge Rd., Alexandria, VA 22314.  For parents who have not been involved in the past, each of the advanced school bands in the diocese perform three pieces upon which they are judged and given a final rating, S or E (Superior or Excellent). As this is the most important performance of the year, we need all advanced band students in attendance.

St. Ambrose Advanced Band is scheduled to perform at 1:00 with a full band warm-up time of 12:30. Students are asked to arrive NO LATER THAN 12:00-noon for proper, individual warm-up and tuning. After we perform, students will be allowed to leave. Please respond to this email to confirm that your child will be in attendance. It is very important that every student attend on this day so that we may perform at our best.

Students are to wear “concert attire:” Boys: Black pants, black shoes and black socks with a white, button down shirt with collar. (No ties, jackets, or vests.)

Girls: Black pants, or below-the-knee black skirt (no dresses), with black shoes, black socks, or black tights, and a white blouse or top.

It is very important that the students maintain a regular practice schedule in preparation for the band festival. Thank you for your continued support of the St. Ambrose School Band.

Sincerely,

Mark Sawasky, Band Director
