Update – September 20:
We had a great turnout for our track practice yesterday afternoon – 17 children came to participate! Just a reminder, if you would like your child to participate, you must register him/her at https://reg.sportspilot.com/106538/login by tomorrow evening.
Also, it was warm on the field yesterday afternoon. Please either send an extra water bottle for your children or remind them to refill any water bottles they may have. There is no way for them to get into the back door for water during practice.
Next practice – 4pm tomorrow (Friday).
Hello St. Ambrose Parents,
We are in IMMEDIATE NEED to start our track program. The one and only FALL meet is on Saturday, September 29 at Bishop O’Connell.
I have agreed, with the guidance of our previous coach, Mani Tiwari, to coach the team this year. You must sign your child up now at: https://reg.sportspilot.com/106538/login Practices will be 4:00 – 5:15 this Wednesday, Friday and next Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Track and field is open to all students from the third through the eighth grades. I am not a track coach, but will do my best to give the kids a chance to compete and maybe place well.
I NEED YOUR HELP! If you can help me at practices, and on the day of the meet, I will be extremely grateful! And once we get past the track meet, we will need a better qualified, more permanent coach, to prepare the kids for the cross country meet on November 3 and then again for spring track.
Please consider volunteering for this very important task – it will cover your volunteer hours for the year! We would ideally like to have three coaches, one head coach and two assistants.
The previous coach, Mani Tiwari and the NVJCYO coordinator, Tim Bogan, are also available to provide assistance and direction.
As a long time St Ambrose Mom (my kids started in kindergarten and are now in 8th and 6th grades) and a basketball coach for the last three years, I can tell you that the best way to know what your kids and their friends are thinking is to coach their teams!!!
Please sign your kids up now and please, please, please, reach out to me if you have interest in assisting with coaching track and/or cross country. The more parents helping make easy work.
