Friday Updates – March 29
Posted on March 30, 2019
Dear Parents:
Happy Spring time! Some of you have been asking about spring uniform. After a preliminary look at the long term forecast, it looks like it will remain on the cool side until after Easter break. Therefore we will have the official change over to spring uniform at that time. That being said, if we do experience a warm up we will make an announcement to switch sooner. Spring break begins on Thursday, April 18 with 11:30 am dismissal. Normally we do not offer Extended Day on Holy Thursday but this year our Extended Day staff have graciously offered to open until 3:00 pm. We are very grateful to them. Please be sure that your child is picked up by 3:00 pm on April 18.
Our spring concert will be held on Thursday, May 30 at 6:30 pm. Please plan on joining us for this special event. More information will follow.
As we have used three snow days, the official last day of school will be June 12, with Mass, awards and dismissal by 11:00 am. Kindergarten finale and 8th grade graduation will be held on June 7 as indicated on the calendar.
Next school year, 2019-2020, is a special year for St. Ambrose School: we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary, our Silver Jubilee! We want to start planning now to make it memorable! We are looking for a few volunteers to form a committee and begin planning some special events. If you are interested in being a part of this exciting era in the life of St. Ambrose School please email me and let me know. Any meetings we have in the next couple of months will even count for service hours for this school year!
Thank you to all who have put in your 15 hours of service for this year. We are very grateful to you. If you have not yet worked these, please let us know your plan. Otherwise you will be billed the first week of June.
As mentioned in an earlier email, we are about to launch a service program for Martha’s table, led by our 8th grade Leadership and Service Club. Please consider donating.
In addition, please note that the parish is starting two bible studies, one on Wednesday mornings beginning April 3 , and one on Wednesday evenings, beginning April 10
- Follow Me-Gospel of John (morning study)
- Galatians-Set Free to Live (evening study)
Just a reminder that there are still some openings in our after school soccer program. It is now open from K-4th grade, and begins next Monday. See the flier for more information and to register. See the fliers below for more information:
I hope to see you at the Lenten Supper this evening. Have a great weekend.
