St. Ambrose School has decided to postpone the 2020 School Gala scheduled for this Saturday, March 14. More information will be coming soon.
Dear Members of the St. Ambrose School Community –
As the ongoing news of the COVID-19 Virus hits closer to home, we have been in regular communication with the Diocesan Office of Catholic Schools and other parish schools to stay updated on the situation, and to learn what safety measures should be implemented. We are following the diocesan recommendations carefully to help prevent any spread of the virus. Over the past few weeks we have taken many precautions to ensure the safety of all, even when those precautions directly affected school activities or scheduled school events. Please know that we consider the health and well being of all members of our community to be our top priority.
Out of an abundance of caution, St. Ambrose School has decided to postpone the 2020 School Gala scheduled for this Saturday, March 14th. This decision was made after long conversations with the Diocese of Arlington, our PTO, our school administration, and our parish leaders. Those who have attended a St. Ambrose School Gala in the past know that this a wonderful evening that brings the school and parish together, helps support many of our school’s new projects, and culminates in a fun (and rowdy) auction for special prizes. It was an especially difficult decision to postpone the 2020 School Gala as this was one of the main events planned to celebrate our school’s 25thAnniversary.
In the name of all the school community, I want to express my deep gratitude to Peter and Cathy Cuenco, who have served as the chairpersons for the 2020 School Gala. Over the past few months they, and their army of volunteers, have generously given many hours of work, wisdom, and problem solving. I know they had everything in place to make this Saturday’s gala an unforgettable evening.
In the days ahead, St. Ambrose School will continue to monitor the situation in our local community, and follow all the recommendations given by the diocese. It is our hope and prayer to reschedule the 2020 St. Ambrose School Gala for later in the spring semester. We want very much to reschedule this special event at a date and time in the near future, when all members of the school and parish community can fully participate. Please stay tuned for updates and information in the days ahead.

IT’S GALA TIME!!! The St. Ambrose 25th Anniversary Gala – “A Silver Knight” is coming up on Saturday, March 14!! It’s all hands on deck in The Hive as we make final preparations for our most important fundraiser of the year. The Cuenco Family has been working ‘round the clock to make this year’s Gala amazing for our community!

It’s time to talk GALA!! This is our 25th anniversary, so to celebrate 25 amazing years, we are taking you back to when it all began!! Get ready for a night of fundraising, dinner and dancing on March 14, 2020!
The GALA is our biggest fundraiser of the year and provides crucial funds that support technology and educational supplies and initiatives for our students that are not covered in tuition, funds to support staff retention, as well as field trips, assemblies and other events through the year.
What is the Gala?
The Gala is a fun night to share in the fellowship of our St. Ambrose Community. It is the largest fundraiser for our school, generally bringing in around $40,000 for our PTO. This money contributes to our teacher appreciation program, field trips, items for our classrooms, and upgrades to the school. This is a must attend event!

Are children allowed?
The Gala is an adult-only event. Enjoy the night out and bring your friends! Team up an share a babysitter!
How can I help?
Volunteers Needed: In order to make this year’s Gala a success, we need EVERYONE to help! If you’ve been involved before, we need your expertise and experience! If you’re new, join us in producing this important event. Old families – collaborate with new families to transfer your knowledge and show them how we Gala at St. Ambrose! Partner with a friend and co-chair a committee, or sign up to pitch in where you can. Most of the work leading up to the Gala is done outside of school and does NOT require Virtus training.
