Traveling Crucifix

St. Ambrose School: Traveling Crucifix Program (signupgenius.com)

We are starting the Traveling Crucifix program in the school this year.  While the program may be new to many of you, it is a familiar program in a lot of parishes to focus on praying for vocations to the priesthood and religious life in our diocese.

The kit is a small box containing the Crucifix, the stand for the Crucifix, a children’s prayer card for vocations and an instructional pamphlet. At the end of the school Mass the priest who is celebrating that Thursday will bless the crucifix and give it to the student/family who has agreed to take the kit home for a two-week period.  There will be a Sign-Up Genius on the website and an accompanying instructional video will appear soon.  Once the two-week period is over, the student/family will return the kit on that Thursday morning so the next student/family my take home.  Once we have time to evaluate the program, we may have the period move to a weekly basis for the 2023 academic year.

We are truly blessed in the Diocese of Arlington with the number of seminarians and those called to religious life…but the number is never enough. Please make praying for vocations for our diocese and the world part of your daily life.  Make the Traveling Crucifix program a part of your family prayer time!

May God bless you.
