Welcome back!

Dear Parents:

Welcome back!  I hope you all had a peaceful, blessed Easter and enjoyed having your children at home for the week.  It’s hard to believe that we are on the home stretch to the end of the school year.  Speaking of that, because we only used one snow day this year, our school year will end a little early on Wednesday, June 14.  This will be a short day with Mass, awards and early dismissal.  More information will follow.

A reminder that our Spring Arts Show will be on Friday, June 2 at 6:30 pm.  This will feature each class in a vocal presentation, our school band, our new strings group and our school choir.  To enhance the oral presentations, we will have displays of Art from each class.  This evening will highlight the incredible artistic talent of our students (being very un-creative myself, I am in awe of them!).

A couple of other reminders: our 5th and 8th graders will take the ACRE Religion test this week.  This is an annual test given to these two grades, in all diocesan schools, to assess our Religion program.  Please keep them in your prayers.  Also, we still have some families that have not yet re-registered.  Please note that our registration fee will go up on April 28.  On Friday, students in grades 5-8 will attend a presentation given by Dr. Harold Burgess from NIH.  St. Ambrose was selected to host a “Nifty Fifty” speaker, and Dr. Burgess will talk about how much we can learn about our brains – by observing fish?!  Thanks to Mrs. Meghan Scott and Mrs. Sloma-Williams for coordinating this.

On a personal note, my daughter is in the middle of finals this week and is set to graduate from college on May 6.  Please keep her, and all of our young graduates, in your prayers as they get ready to approach “grown-up” life.

Thank you all for your involvement in our school and all of its activities.  It is such a vibrant community because of you.

God bless.
