Christmas Service

Dear Parents:

In my year and a half here at St. Ambrose School and parish I have been overwhelmed by the generosity that abounds here, with time, with talent, and with treasure.  Any wonder that our students enthusiastically participate in all of our service projects!  They have such a wonderful example to follow.  We have just finished our coat drive, that will give winter warmth to those in need.  Tomorrow we will launch two new projects that will help so many enjoy the Christmas season a little bit more.  In conjunction with the neighboring police facility we are doing a toy drive, and these toys will be delivered to children at some local hospitals and other needy children in the community.  Please consider having your child bring in a toy and place it in one of the boxes that will be in our school lobby. The toys will be delivered by the police.

For our second fundraiser we will be working with Religious Education students to raise funds for the Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem – the Bethlehem!  This Catholic hospital is very close to the birthplace of Jesus.  An explanation of the fundraiser, as well as a collection box will be in the Wednesday folders today.  Please take a few minutes to read this with your children.  We encourage the children to put coins in the box, maybe in place of buying a treat.  Placing the box in the middle of the dinner table as a reminder of how better off we are is another suggestion.  Thank you in advance for your continuing generosity, and for showing your children the importance to helping others.

We will continue with other service projects in the New Year.

God bless.
