Update from Mrs. Dalmut – Jan. 29

Dear Parents,

We are enjoying our Catholic Schools Week events! Congratulations to our Spelling Bee Winner, who will represent us in the Diocesan Spelling Bee on March 7. The Runner-Up will be our Alternate for the Diocesan competition. Each classroom had its own spelling bee, and those winners will be recognized at the end-of-the-year awards presentations.

I know you are tired of this dreary weather. Now that you are used to following Fairfax County Schools announcements, I have to tell you that they are not going to be in school on Friday or Monday. FCPS is  closed for Teacher Work Days. I will have to make the decision for St. Ambrose as to whether to delay or close school. I will be consulting very early in the morning with 8 other principals, and we will make a decision by 6:15am.Please watch for an email very early. Turn off your phones if you don’t want to be disturbed!  I will only email you if there is a change to the schedule! So if you don’t hear from me, you can assume we start school on time! Let’s hope so!

Tomorrow, Fr. Fisher will be speaking to the school about our Blessed Mother and Lourdes. You are welcome to join us in the Gym at 10:15.

Thank you for all your well wishes, and all the support during Catholic Schools Week! It is a very special time, and we are glad to celebrate with you!

God bless,

Barbara Dalmut
