Dear Parents,

Please see the attached list of the many opportunities to help with the gala and obtain your volunteer hours.  I humbly ask that you read through all of it; I believe you will see the amount of teamwork required to make this event happen.  There are opportunities to help before, during, and after the gala; so you can choose what best fits your schedule.

I purposely inserted the contact or link for each job description so that it is easy for you to go right to the Sign Up Genius or email me.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at gala@stambroseschool.org.

Update – Friday, January 18:

Dear St. Ambrose Parents,
Happy Friday!  I’m reaching out to you with our current gala support needs.  In the past, there really were gala committees! A chairperson and 5 or so people would meet to come up with plans and divvy up the action items. That made it fun and the work was light. Unfortunately, these days we only have one or two people taking on a lot of work.  Please step in and be a hero!  To borrow from a recent political motto…”Make Volunteering Fun Again!”  Please see the list below for ways to help right now.

Decorations:  Kay Carlson is the decorations chair, and now that we are moving the gala to a larger space, she could use some help. Please contact Kay at talkalittle@gmail.com if you can donate a bit of time in the next week or two.  *This is separate from the decorating help we will need a few days prior to the gala.

Food/Catering/Donations: Trying to keep the cost low and serve delicious food involves some legwork.  Are you willing to make some phone calls, send some emails regarding our catering needs? Or visit a few grocery stores to request donations for appetizer/cheese trays or gift cards for such? Please contact me at gala@stambroseschool.org and I will send you a list with pertinent details and locations.

Donation Pick Up:  Laura Kent has kindly been running all over the county picking up donations for us.  However, we have a promised donation that is in BETHESDA that cannot be mailed.  If you know of someone who works in that area who is willing to pick it up for us (they have to bring a particular form with them), please contact me at gala@stambroseschool.org.

I truly appreciate your support.  Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Sharon Driscoll

Gala Information

Gala logoPlan to join us at the St. Ambrose School Gala, “A Mardi Gras Knight,” on Saturday March 2, 2019 from 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm!

What is the Gala?
The Gala is a fun night to share in the fellowship of our St. Ambrose community. It is the largest fundraiser for our school, generally bringing in around $40,000 for our PTO. This money contributes to  our teacher appreciation program, field trips, items for our classrooms, and upgrades to the school. This is a must attend event!

Dinner and desserts will be served. In addition to the silent and live auctions and raffles, there will also be music and dancing this year!

The gala is an adult-only event. Enjoy the night out and bring your friends! Team up and share a babysitter!
