K of C Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest

This schoolyear we have a new Knights-sponsored opportunity for youth to show their artistic abilities, and this time it will include grades K-8.  This is the Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.

Entry form (front and back) went out in your student’s Wednesday folder. The entry forms are also located under and to the left of the front office window.

RULES:

Posters must reflect either the theme of Keep Christ in Christmas.

Each poster should be the original work (including concept, layout, slogan and any visual images) of a single person.

Posters must be 11X17 inches in size.  If pastels chalk, or charcoal are used the poster must be laminated or covered with clear plastic. Posters may be in color or black and white.

Each poster must be submitted with a Knights of Columbus Keep Christ in Christmas Contest entry form. The name and age of the person entering the poster should be included on the back of the poster.

All entries become the property of the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council.

Posters will not be returned.

JUDGING:

A 100-point scoring system will be used to determine the winners.

Slogan – 30 Points: How clearly is the theme presented?

Artistic Merit – 30 Points: How well do the visuals convey the message?

Overall Impact – 40 Points: How effective was the poster in capturing your attention and causing you to reflect on the topic?

ELIGIBILITY & DETAILS:

The Knights of Columbus Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest is open to all young people in grades K-8 (ages 5-14). Age eligibility is determined by the age of the contestant as of November 1.  Contest entrants compete in one of three grade divisions — K-2 (ages 5 through 7), 3-5 (ages 8 through 10),

and 6-8 (ages 11 through 14).

Prizes will be awarded to the top 2 places in each grade division (age group) by the following amounts:

1st place = $50

2nd place = $25
