Update from Mrs. Dalmut – December 12

Dear Parents,
I suspect that you have a few Christmas packages in your home, thanks to the generosity and hard work of many people! A special thank you to Jackie O’Brien for spearheading this activity. The children were so excited about being able to purchase real gifts for their parents, grandparents, siblings, etc. It is a joy to see them thinking about giving, rather than receiving! Many thanks to all those who helped to set up, wrap gifts, advise students, and clean up. Hopefully the children’s gratitude was quite obvious!
I have a message from my daughter, Meg, who is the Director of Community Engagement at Marymount University.
I have some exciting news! Marymount University is able to donate a HUGE amount of storage furniture to the National Capital Veterans Coalition to furnish a new shelter that is opening up in DC for homeless female veterans and their children.

We need volunteer help this Saturday morning, December 13 from 8am until about 12pm for loading. Come ready to move furniture! Join us at the big blue building in Ballston: 1000 N. Glebe Road, Arlington VA.

Please email me back if you can help!!! WE NEED ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET!

We will be moving bed frames and other lighter things — so grade 8 and up would be very welcome! Meg can be reached at: Margaret.dalmut@marymount.edu. Or you can let me know you are coming, and I’ll tell her for you. I plan to be there at 8am — what a worthy cause! God bless our veterans!

Our Choir will be singing at Sunday’s 10:00 Mass. See you there!

Reminder: Our Christmas program begins at 6:30pm on Thursday, Dec. 18. Friday the 19th is an early dismissal — with no Extended Day. Where did December go?!

God bless,
Barbara Dalmut
