Volunteering and Recruitment

Dear Parents:

It is hard to believe that another school year is almost over. I am so grateful to you for entrusting your children to our care. I am especially grateful to those who have volunteered in any capacity, especially the ongoing volunteering of PTO members, room parents, and gala workers. However, we did have to cancel a couple of events due to lack of volunteers. It takes everyone to do a little to make these events happen. This year we had a few doing a lot!

To that end we are announcing a new Volunteer Program for next school year. As with most other schools in the diocese, we are asking every family to commit to fifteen hours during the school year. Some positions, such as PTO and room parents, will automatically be credited with fifteen hours due to the ongoing nature of those positions. An electronic volunteer sheet will be available on our website for each family to keep track. Any family not fulfilling the fifteen hours will automatically be billed for $300 at the end of the school year.

We are looking for PTO Board members for next year – we are especially in need of a president! The PTO is at the center of all of our fund-raising, so if you want to keep the fun and educational assemblies, etc. for our students, and you feel that you have the qualities to lead our PTO please let me, or current president Sarah Moran, know. Thank you for your prayerful consideration.

We really need everyone’s help to make all of our programs and events successful. I am attaching a list of volunteer opportunities for your reference, but please note that this is not exhaustive, and other opportunities may arise as the year progresses. When your child sees you investing your time in his/her school, it sends a message that this is really important. Please, send that message to your children!

Another way that you can help is by helping to spread the word about our school. Your testimony is worth more than any marketing that we can do. For the next six months, anyone who brings in a new family that registers will have their Book and Technology fee refunded. That is our way of saying “thank you.”

I wish you all a wonderful weekend, and to all mothers, I wish you a very Happy and Blessed Mothers Day. Thank you for all that you do.

God bless,

Angela Rowley
